What itdoes well

Seedance 2.0 reads a prompt like a shot list. These are the parts worth writing for.

01

More than one shot per clip

Ask for a wide and then a close-up in one render, and describe each in order. Subject and light carry across the cut.

02

Camera language

Name the move: push-in, dolly left, orbit, handheld. Shot size and lens words steer the framing.

03

Native audio

Ambient sound and effects are generated with the picture. Switch audio off for silent clips; the price does not change.

04

Reference images

Guide a shot with up to 9 images for product, character or style.

How to writea prompt that lands

Write it the way a director briefs a crew: what is in frame, how the camera moves, how it is lit.

Three layers

Perfume bottle on black glass, mist bursts from the nozzle, slow push-in, shallow focus, hard side light, black background, film grain.

  1. Subject and action · what is in frame and what it does.
  2. Camera · the move, shot size and focus.
  3. Light and style · light direction, palette, texture.

Give it a timeline

For multi-beat clips, mark the beats in seconds.

0–2 s: wide of the street. 2–5 s: close-up on her hands as she opens the box.

Point at your images

Refer to uploaded images by number so the model knows which does what.

Use @image1 as the first frame. Keep the label from @image2.

Say what to avoid

One short line of exclusions beats a long list.

Avoid: text overlays, extra hands, a changed logo.

Weak versus strong

WeakA cool perfume ad.

StrongPerfume bottle on black glass, mist bursts from the nozzle in hard side light. Slow push-in, shallow focus, black background, film grain.

APIquick start

Async jobs, one key for both engines, and a price cap on every request.

  1. Request API access in the studio; once it is open, create a key. It is shown once.
  2. POST the shot with an Idempotency-Key and a max_credits cap (or a quote_id).
  3. Get 202 and a job id straight away; the hold is placed.
  4. Poll the job, or pass webhook_url and wait for job.succeeded.

Live channelsas measured

One model can run on more than one supplier. Each row is one channel: its state right now, and its success rate and median render time over the last 24 hours. Refreshed every minute.

Your price is the same on every channel. We switch to the backup only when the primary is unavailable or your API routing preference says so.

Measured from finished jobs in the last 24 hours. Failures caused by the request itself (a refused prompt, invalid settings, a cancellation) do not count against a channel. A channel shows numbers once it has 20 runs; until then it says not enough data yet. Time runs from the first submit to a successful result. In the API, set routing_preference to stability (the default) or speed. Platform status
